Academy

The Academy developed through a shared desire to provide the very best in nursing and home care services. Founder members welcomed the Commission for Social Care (CSCI) initiative with its emphasis on competence and training, consistent with the Care Standards Act 2000 (Standards 19 and 20):

Standard 19 (see regulation15)
19.1 The registered person ensures that there is a staff development and training programme within the agency, reviewed and updated annually, which meets the workforce training targets of the Training Organisation for Personal Social Services, and ensures staff are able to fulfil the aims of the agency and meets the changing needs of service users, their relatives and representative.

Standard 20 (see regulation15)
20.1 All staff in the organisation are competent and trained to undertake the activities for which they are employed and responsible.
