Job Summary

• Assesses, plans and implements care for children at home

• Provides specialist advice and maintains associated records

• Carries out specialist nursing procedures e.g. symptom management

• Provides clinical supervision to other staff, students

• Works within an interdisciplinary team to deliver quality care with an emphasis on

promoting independence and rehabilitation as well as curative and palliative care

• May undertake research, lead clinical audits in own specialist area

 

 

Training / Qualifications / Knowledge

Registered on the appropriate part of the NMC register and with the relevant post registration qualification as required for the assignment RN (Child) / RN8 Registered Nurse with relevant post

registration diploma level specialist training or equivalent as required for the assignment

OR

RN (Adult) / RN1/ RN2 Registered Nurse with ENB 415 or 405 course, (or equivalent post registration diploma course achieved through an Institute of Higher Education)

Paediatric Life Support

 

Desirable Criteria: Teaching & assessing qualification / Advanced Life Support

 

Experience : Minimum of two years post registration experience At least 1 year (within last 6 months) evidence based practice caring for children in the home / hospital - appropriate to the assignment

 

 

Skills, Abilities, Knowledge and understanding about the above position will be asked at interviews
