General Nurse (Community). Band 5
Service Users:
Patients in the community– in the home, in clinics and in intermediate care settings
Job Summary
• Assesses patients, plans and implements care in the community.
• Provides advice and maintains associated records
• Carries out nursing procedures
• May provide clinical supervision to other staff, students
• Works within an interdisciplinary team to deliver quality care with an emphasis on promoting independence and rehabilitation as well as curative and palliative care
• Works within codes of practice and professional guidelines. Work is managed rather than supervised.
Training / Qualifications / Knowledge
Registered on the appropriate part of the NMC register for the assignment RN (Adult) / RN1/ RN2 OR RN (Child) / RN8
Desirable Criteria: Teaching & assessing qualification
Experience
Current (within last 6 months) evidence based practice within a primary care field appropriate to the assignment. If newly qualified (within the last year) – evidence that a preceptorship programme has been completed successfully
Skills, Abilities, Knowledge and understanding about the above position will be asked at interviews
