Job Summary

 • Delivers nursing care including running clinics

• Provides health promotion advice

• Carries out nursing procedures

• Carries out immunisations and smear tests (where appropriately trained)

• May provide clinical supervision to other staff, students

• Works within an interdisciplinary team to deliver quality care with an emphasis on promoting independence and rehabilitation as well as curative and palliative care

• Works within codes of practice and professional guidelines. Work is managed

rather than supervised

 

Training / Qualifications / Knowledge

Registered on the appropriate part of the NMC register for the assignment RN (Adult) / RN1/ RN2 OR RN (Child) / RN8

 

Desirable Criteria: Family Planning Certificate

 

Experience

Current (within last 6 months) evidence based practice within a primary care field appropriate to the assignment. If newly qualified (within the last year) – evidence that a preceptorship programme has been completed successfully.
