Patients in the community. 

 

Job Summary

• Delivers nursing care including running specialist clinics

• Provides health education

• Carries out nursing procedures

• Carries out immunisations and smear tests (where appropriately trained)

• May provide clinical supervision to other staff, students

Works within an interdisciplinary team to deliver quality care with an emphasis on promoting independence and rehabilitation as well as curative and palliative care. 

 

Training / Qualifications / Knowledge:

Registered on the appropriate part of the NMC register for the assignment. RN (Adult) / RN1/ RN2 OR RN (Child)/RN8 .Relevant diploma level specialist training or equivalent as required for the assignment. Family Planning Certificate, Evidence of professional updating. Intermediate Life Support.

 

Desirable Criteria: Qualified Nurse Prescriber / Health education qualification / Teaching & assessing qualification / Advanced Life Support.

  

Experience:

Minimum of two years post registration experience. At least 1 year (within last 6 months) evidence based practice caring within a GP practice or in a health care setting appropriate to the field of the assignment.
