Service Users:

Children and families in the community. 

 

Job Summary:

Works within an interdisciplinary team to promote health and to deliver high quality care and services for children and families within the local community (including schools) in collaboration with other external agencies / organisations. Duties may include:

Providing clinical leadership and supervision to other staff, students

Carrying out immunisation programmes for school age children

Undertaking health assessments, health needs profiling, screening and any necessary follow up action

Undertaking health education work with school age children

Assessing, planning and implementation of care for children at home.

Organises community placements for students, provides induction training, clinical supervision

Providing advice and maintaining associated records

Carrying out nursing procedures

Working in partnership with the wider primary care team, social services, schools and other agencies and organisations to promote health and deliver quality care and advice

Works within codes of practice and professional guidelines

 

 

Training / Qualifications / Knowledge:

Registered on the appropriate part of the NMC register for the assignment. RN (Adult) / RN1/ RN2 OR RN (Child) / RN8.Relevant diploma level specialist training, or equivalent, as required for the assignment. Evidence of professional updating Intermediate Life Support

 

Desirable Criteria: ENB 998 or equivalent Teaching & assessing qualification.

 

 

Experience:

Minimum of two years post registration experience. At least 1 year (within last 6 months) evidence based practice with children and families or in a health care setting appropriate to the field of the assignment.
