Nurse Team Manager (Mental Health – Community). Band 7
Service Users:
Mental Health patients – in the home, in clinics and in intermediate care settings.
Job Summary
• Manages team of community psychiatric nurses and other staff covering a geographical area
• Assesses mental health patients, plans and implements care in the community.
• Provides skilled, professional assessment of health needs, relevant nursing care and health information to members of the community
• Provides specialist advice and maintains associated records
• Carries out nursing procedures e.g. injections, intravenous infusion
• Provides clinical leadership to the community Psychiatric nursing team and co-ordinates nursing team work loads
• Works in partnership with the wider primary care team and other agencies in planning and assessing programmes of care
• Organises community placements for students, provides induction training, clinical supervision
• Carries out recruitment and appraisal.
Training / Qualifications / Knowledge:
Registered on the appropriate part of the NMC register for the assignment RN (Mental Health ) RN3, RN4. Relevant diploma level specialist training or equivalent as required for the
Assignment Evidence of continuing professional education .ENB 998 or equivalent Teaching & assessing qualification.
Experience:
Minimum of four years post registration experience At least 2 years experience within the field of assignment. Current (within last 6 months) evidence based practice .Staff management and supervision.Crisis management and intervention.
Skills, Abilities, Knowledge and understanding about the above position will be asked at interviews
